Fun Friday Links

A new regular series for anyone wishing the weekend would hurry up. Here’s some fun links to things I’ve found on the interweb this week.
>> If you’re running your own craft business, or thinking about giving it a go, then you’ll know one of the hardest nuts to crack is how to make your business stand out and get noticed. Modish blog is running a series of extremely helpful articles called How To Be A Crafty Marketer, all about finding your niche and using your unique crafty personality to move on up. It’s a must-read!
>> Crafty duo Something’s Hiding In Here have definitely found their niche. Your Message Here is their new project (photo above), a shop window display where they change the message regularly using suggestions from their blog. Add your message in the comments and you might be a part of the fun.
>> Design For Mankind is another great design blog – the new issue of Mankind Mag, their self-published e-zine, is now available for free download and full of inspiration.
>> Michelle Romo of Crowded Teeth is one of my favourite illustrators. She’s doing an art project EVERY DAY for a whole year and the results are truly inspiring. Check out the photos of this month’s papercraft theme – she designed and built them all!
>> Everyone knows about origami, but do you know about kirigami? It’s the Japanese art of papercutting and PingMag have an excellent article on kirigami artist Kanaka Yaguchi. Her work is colourful, intricate and very beautiful.
>> If you’re still bored, here’s how to make an origami flapping bird.
Have a good weekend, and if you have any interesting links for me, feel free to email them to hello AT askingfortrouble.org
