My favourite ever handmade xmas pressie was a giant (well that’s how I remember it!) box of handmade dolls clothes I got from my granny. I was utterly stunned that she somehow knew Santa had got me a doll that year and took great delight in telling all my friends at school “my granny’s friends with Santa”!

Being the crafter in my family I am usually giving out handmade pressies not recieving them :( My favourite hand made pressie I have given out was a lovely hand embroidered, patchwork, quilted hotwater bottle cover for my sister. It was a craft overload but looked beautiful.

My favourite handmade Christmas gift was a framed embroidered picture of a bride and groom with the date of our wedding which was 2 days before Christmas from my aunt. I still have it 34 years later (and I kept the man as well!)

I’m not sure I’ve ever received a handmade Christmas present as I (like Catherine above) tend to be the one giving out the handmade gifts. I’m hoping that the quilt I’m making for my daughter this year will be the best handmade present I’ve ever given.

my daughter made me a christmas present many years ago and its still one of my most treasured possessions. it is quite simply a box of love, an empty box wrapped in paper with a lovely rhyme on it about how i’ve not to unwrap it because there is nothing inside to see as it’s filled with love.

One of the best handmade presents I received one Christmas was actually a Christmas card. My first nephew was only about 3-4 years old and he made Christmas cards for everyone that year and he put his heart and soul into them. He spent ages making them right for everyone. I still have it to this day due to the sentimental value and he will be 20 in December.

Is it ok if it was one that was given to someone else?
My favourite ever handmade christmas present was a hand baked from scratch gingerbread house (complete with sweetie stained glass windows and a wee skate rink out the front). My mum made it. She made it for a local family who had tragically lost their father/husband in an accident earlier in the year. She didn’t know the family particularly well but she felt she wanted to do something, however small so she packaged the gingerbread house up and left in on their doorstep as a minder to them that they were in her thoughts at what must have been an especially difficult time of year for them. I just felt it demonstrated the spirit of Christmas beautifully and I’m very proud of her xxx

The best handmade Christmas present that we’ve received was a small basket filled with gorgeous home made cookies, gingerbread, chocolates, and other mouthwatering food goodies.
It was fabulous!

My favourite ever handmade Christmas present was from my best friend, despite not being very crafty (I’m the crafty one!) she wanted to do something special for me. She actually enrolled in a course to learn broochmaking, and on Christmas presented to me a beautiful sterling silver cat brooch – I was so shocked! I couldn’t believe she actually made it and how beautiful it was, needless to say she’s found a new passion and hobby and my brooch still has pride of place on my coat!

My grandma Coggins made the best doll ive ever seen. It was a Cinderella doll with 2 heads, not as scary as it first sounds! The dress she was wearing had a skirt that flipped over to cover one head(really where the feet should be). The idea being that the doll was both a sad cinderella in rags and a perfect princess dress for the ball. 2 dolls in one, amazing as was the 70s material it was sewn from. Thanks gran! @shielaght

hmmmmmmmmm….best handmade Christmas present (that I still proudly display yearly) is the stocking my mum made for me when I was around 6. Red gingham, lots of ric-rac, and my name lovingly embroidered on the top…thanks, Mum.
